Frequent online shoppers know that syncing purchases through a cash-back website is a must—if you don’t, you’re basically throwing away free money! There are lots of great sites out there that let you earn points while shopping online (ebates.com, mypoints.com and swagbucks.com are a few of our longtime favorites), and we’re excited to now have a brand-new one to add to our list.
Like other cash back sites, imyne.com gives you the option of earning cash back, but it also makes it incredibly easy to support charitable causes. Whenever you visit a retailer’s website (Target, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Sears and many more participate), a button pops up telling you how much you can earn from that store. Then, after you make a purchase, a donation is automatically sent to your chosen charity on your behalf.
Here’s how it works:
1. Join iMyne by filling out a short form (it’s free!).
2. Choose the charity of your choice by clicking on one of iMyne’s featured charities or search for one that’s not on the list. (I chose the American Red Cross, for example.)
3. Click “Get It” on the third page to download the iMyne plugin, which lives on your browser while you search the web.
4. Start shopping! Check out iMyne’s Stores & Brands page to see which stores offer cash back options through the website. Once you’re on a store’s site, a popup will appear on your screen from iMyne. Make sure to click “Activate Cash Back” on that popup to earn full credit for any purchases you make.
5. Redeem points for cash back or designate them to be automatically donated to the charity of your choice every time you buy something from a participating retailer. Bonus: There are no fees!
We love that the website is super easy to use, not to mention a wonderful way to mindlessly give back to a good cause every time you shop.
